Staged by HKRep at 2002 Fall, "Love in a fallen city" was the work of Eileen Chang, arguably China's best contemporary female writer. The production process of this piece started 4 months before its opening. Through numerous visits to their dance and singing practices, rehearsals, and lengthy interviews with some of the key contributors (director, choreographer, actors), the adaptation of the play was condensed and captured on this 35-minute documentary with 7 elements: adapt-scripting, music, choreography, set, lighting, costume, and overall visual design.
